The Campus Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment on school campuses while providing professional, customer-focused security services. This role requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid State of Florida Class D Security License (required)
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation and means of communication
Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings
Criminal Background Check
Motor Vehicle
Drug Screen

Nice To Haves

5 years of experience in security or law enforcement
Experience working with children or youth strongly preferred
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate computer skills
Ability to perform routine foot patrols, mobile patrols, moderate lifting, and work in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, parents, and visitors
Provide general security services in accordance with client requirements and DSI post orders
Remain visible to deter unacceptable behavior and promote campus safety
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations, including fights, medical incidents, or other security concerns
Observe, correct, and report hazards, incidents, and suspicious activity
Interact professionally with students, parents, staff, visitors, and members of the public
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other security personnel
Remain at assigned post until properly relieved
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and timely
Comply with DSI and client policies, post instructions, and Code of Ethics
Participate in required training and ongoing security education
Present a professional appearance and conduct at all times
