School Bus Operators
About The Position
Our Class D School Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe, reliable, and professional transportation of passengers while delivering exceptional customer service and upholding the highest safety standards. Successful candidates will begin in part-time bus operations and may progress into motorcoach (Class A) operations based on performance, operational needs, and licensing requirements. This is an ongoing posting, and qualified applicants may be contacted as openings arise. ‘Class D Operator’ refers to the union job classification and does not represent the driver’s license class.
Requirements
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Ontario Class BZ licence with Z endorsement
- Clean driver’s abstract and strong safety record
- Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience (school bus or transit preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain MTO medical clearance
- Valid passport and eligibility for U.S. cross-border travel
- Ability to meet DOT/FMCSA requirements
- Fluent spoken and written English to ensure safe communication with passengers, dispatch, and emergency services

- Customer service experience considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and dispatch instructions
- Conduct pre-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Provide courteous, professional service to students, passengers, and clients
- Assist passengers with boarding, seating, luggage, and accessibility needs
- Accurately complete driver logs, reports, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and transportation regulations
