DS Bus Lines Inc. is seeking a Part-Time School Bus Monitor (Bus Aide) in Olathe, KS, offering $16.75 per hour plus monthly bonuses. The position requires availability for all three daily shift blocks (AM, Midday, and PM), averaging 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar. As a School Bus Monitor, your primary responsibility is the safety of students, supporting the Driver by managing student behavior and providing assistance, ensuring students board and depart safely and are accounted for at the end of each route.

Requirements

Must be available for all three daily shift blocks: AM, Midday, and PM.
Must be available Monday through Friday.
Must follow the school calendar.
Ability to perform essential job functions including securing children in seats, kneeling to secure wheelchair restraints, ascending and descending stairs, bending, stooping, and lifting as required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a calm and safe environment on the bus at all times.
Help students board and depart the vehicle; assist with seating and specialized equipment.
Act as a second set of eyes and ears for the Driver.
Perform mandatory "Child Checks" at the end of every route to ensure no student is left behind.
Greet students and parents with a pleasant, professional demeanor.
Securely fastening children in seats and kneeling to secure wheelchair restraints.
Comfortably ascending and descending school bus stairs.
Bending, stooping, and lifting as required to assist students with various needs.
