About The Position

DS Bus Lines Inc. is seeking a School Bus Monitor (Bus Aide) for a part-time role in Olathe, KS. This position is ideal for individuals looking for a meaningful way to serve their local community. As a School Bus Monitor, your primary responsibility is the safety and well-being of students during their commute. You will support the bus driver by managing student behavior and providing assistance, ensuring a safe and calm environment. This role follows the school calendar and offers a consistent split-shift routine.

Requirements

Must be available for all three daily shift blocks: AM, Midday, and PM.
Must be available Monday through Friday.
Must be able to perform child checks at the end of every route.
Must be able to securely fasten children in seats.
Must be able to kneel to secure wheelchair restraints.
Must be able to ascend and descend school bus stairs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift as required to assist students.

Responsibilities

Maintain a calm and safe environment on the bus at all times.
Help students board and depart the vehicle.
Assist students with seating and specialized equipment.
Act as a second set of eyes and ears for the Driver.
Perform mandatory "Child Checks" at the end of every route to ensure no student is left behind.
Greet students and parents with a pleasant, professional demeanor.
Securely fasten children in seats.
Kneel to secure wheelchair restraints.
Ascend and descend school bus stairs.
Bend, stoop, and lift as required to assist students with various needs.
