About The Position

First Student is hiring Part Time School Bus Monitors in Highland, IL. As a School Bus Monitor, you will be essential in your community and in the lives of the students you transport. You will be present at the beginning of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a school bus monitor is required, as First Student provides industry-leading training. The role involves a split shift, with an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off, offering several free hours in between. A guaranteed shift of 4 hours per school day is provided, with no working nights or weekends unless desired. Additional hours may be available through trips and charters.

Requirements

At least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
Must not use Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.
