About The Position

Monark Student Transportation is seeking a School Bus Mechanic. This role involves performing repair work and maintenance for buses. Responsibilities include routine and preventive maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups, repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts and systems (e.g., brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions), testing parts and systems for proper function, and examining critical components using a checklist. The mechanic will identify mechanical issues visually or with computer diagnostic equipment, test drive vehicles to confirm safe operation, and plan repair and maintenance timetables. The company is willing to train individuals interested in learning and growing with them.

Requirements

Knowledge of mechanical repair skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read service and repair manuals.
Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, hydraulics, and software.

Nice To Haves

Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field.
Two plus years of related experience.
A commercial driver’s license.
State inspection license / hydraulics.

Responsibilities
