About The Position

Transit Team, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Richfield, MN. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of the school bus fleet. The mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring all work meets DOT and safety standards. This position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with steady hours and the opportunity to be part of a supportive team that keeps communities moving safely.

Requirements

• Experience working on medium-duty diesel vehicles or buses
• Ability to work independently and stay organized
• Strong commitment to safety and quality work
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with Ford, GM, or fleet vehicles
• ASE certifications
• Previous school bus or transit fleet experience

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on school buses
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections to keep the fleet safe and road-ready
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems
• Ensure all repairs meet DOT and safety standards
• Work independently while staying connected with the team
