About The Position

Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers for Granite City, IL As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. IMPORTANT LICENSING REQUIREMENT: Applicants must reside in Illinois OR already possess a valid CDL Class B (or higher) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements to be eligible to drive for this Illinois location. Due to state licensing requirements, Missouri residents without these credentials cannot be trained or licensed through this location. Your day will include: A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between A guaranteed shift of hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Must reside in Illinois, or currently hold a CDL Class B (or higher) with School Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Must pass a DOT drug test as a safety-sensitive employee.
• Must be able to work a split shift schedule.
• No college degree or high school diploma required.
• No experience as a bus driver necessary.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to and from school.
• Operate a school bus on a split shift schedule (morning and afternoon).
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe bus environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and school staff.
• Participate in additional hours through trips and charters when available.
