About The Position
Oakland International Academy is hiring School Bus Drivers to safely transport students to and from school and activities while maintaining a secure, respectful environment on every route.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Yellow Card (Course Completion) or Green Card (Continuing Education) from a Michigan RESA/ISD
- DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable commute to Detroit, MI 48211
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of school bus driving experience
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned routes on schedule, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections daily
- Maintain a clean, safe bus environment
- Transport students and staff on field trips as needed
- Operate accessible/ramp buses when assigned, including securing wheelchairs properly
- Stay current on Michigan traffic code requirements through ongoing driving training
- Follow all supervisor directives and district policies
