About The Position

Voyago is hiring School Bus Drivers in Kitchener/Waterloo for the 2026/2027 school year. We are seeking Part-Time Drivers for the upcoming school year, who will be assigned a school route for the duration of the school year. We're also hiring Route Support Drivers who will assist and cover routes when drivers call in sick or have booked time off. Part-time drivers will be assigned a route from September through June, offering stability of a set schedule with the flexibility of part-time, split shift work. Route Support Drivers can expect between 12 to 25 hours per week, with additional opportunities to pick up extra hours. Applicants interested only in driving a minivan will not be considered.

Requirements

• Safety focused
• Hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license for at least 1 year
• 21 years of age or over
• A safe driver with a clean driving record
• Ability to obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
• Sound knowledge of Kitchener, Waterloo and surrounding areas
• Ability to work independently
• Available for the required shifts: Monday to Friday approximately 6:30am to 9:15am AND 1:00pm to 4:30pm (Start and end times will vary depending on the specific details of each route)
• Solid communication skills
• Enjoy being around children with disabilities of all ages
• Comfortable driving in all types of weather and road conditions
• Comfortable driving large vehicles
• Basic computer skills and can easily navigate Google Maps or a GPS unit

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students within your community to and from school, ensuring a reliable and positive experience each day
• Prioritize student safety at all times, including during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle
• Conduct thorough pre and post trip inspections to ensure the bus remains in proper and safe operating condition
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to present a well kept, professional vehicle
• Accurately complete daily Hours of Service reports and maintain required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Immediately report any mechanical issues or concerns affecting the safe operation of the vehicle
• Address and report any student behaviour issues in a timely and professional manner, following company procedures
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with safety practices, policies, and regulations
• Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers
