Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers for Dalton Public Schools, Dalton Georgia As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. Your day will include: A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between A guaranteed shift of (5) hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
• Must not have a college degree or high school diploma (preferred, not required).
• Military experience is encouraged.
• Returning to the workforce or looking for a second job is encouraged.
• Retirees are encouraged to apply.
• Looking to jump start a new career is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Provide a safe and positive environment for students.
• Operate school bus in accordance with company and state regulations.
• Complete required paperwork and logs.
• Handle additional hours gained through trips and charters when available.

Benefits

• $21.85 - $25.20 / hour starting wage, based on school bus driver experience.
• $500 Bonus if Commercial Learner's Permit is obtained with 7 days of completing State Class.
• $200 Bonus if Commercial Learner’s Permit is obtained within 14 days of completing State Class.
