About The Position

Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers for Highland, IL Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. Your day will include: A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between A guaranteed shift of hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available

Requirements

At least 21 years old
Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
Must not have a college degree or high school diploma (preferred, not required)
Military experience (preferred, not required)
Returning to the workforce or looking for a second job (preferred, not required)
Retirees (preferred, not required)
Looking to jump start a new career (preferred, not required)
Looking for a part-time schedule
Enjoy working with students

Nice To Haves

No experience as a bus driver is required, training is provided.
Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class for a bonus.
Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class for a bonus.

Responsibilities

Transport students safely to and from school.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Follow assigned routes and schedules.
Maintain discipline on the bus.
Report any issues or incidents to management.
Participate in additional hours gained through trips and charters when available.

Benefits

$21.63 - $25.00/HR starting wage; depending on experience
$2,000 Sign-on Bonus
$500 Referral Bonus
Commercial Learners Permit Bonus ($750.00 Bonus – if the CLP is presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class. $250.00 Bonus – if the CLP is presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.)
