Requirements

Safety focused
Valid minimum full G class driver's license (Preference will be given to B class drivers)
21 years of age or over
Safe driver with a clean driving record
Ability to obtain a clean criminal record search
Sound knowledge of the Nipissing District and surrounding areas
Ability to work independently
Ability to work split shifts that reflect transportation requirements for school age children
Solid communication skills
Great customer service and communication skills in order to interact with passengers, parents, school employees, co-workers and the general public in a courteous and professional manner
Meet the required MTO medical standards required to obtain or maintain a B license

Responsibilities

Safely transporting children to and from school
Ensure students’ safety while boarding and exiting buses
Performing pre/post- trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety
Help fuel and maintain the cleanliness of the bus

Benefits

Competitive hourly pay ($20.70 when driving a big and mini yellow bus, $19.50 when driving a mini van or performing other duties)
All in-class and on road training required in order to Pass a Ministry of Transportation Driver Examination or obtain a certificate of competence from a recognized authority by passing a vision screening, knowledge test and a driving test in a bus of appropriate size is provided
Professional Driver Improvement Course approved by the Ministry of Transportation
