About The Position

Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers for Springfield, MO. As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. Your day will include: A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between. A guaranteed shift of 4 hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to. Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Must be able to pass a DOT drug test.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Ability to work a split shift schedule.
• Ability to work a minimum of 4 hours per school day.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to and from school.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Maintain discipline on the bus.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
• Operate bus in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus.
• Handle potential emergencies calmly and effectively.

• Commercial Learners Permit Bonus ($750.00 Bonus – if the CLP is presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class. $250.00 Bonus – if the CLP is presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.)
