About The Position

Alltown Bus Service is seeking Part-Time School Bus Drivers in Skokie, IL. This is a flexible weekday position with summers off, offering paid CDL training and starting pay of $25.00/hour. We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in their community by safely transporting students. This role is ideal for retirees, stay-at-home parents, healthcare workers, veterans, or anyone seeking a second career or flexible job. Previous experience in roles such as teacher aides, daycare workers, classroom assistants, social workers, cashiers, retail associates, call center agents, or hospitality staff can be beneficial.

Requirements

• Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement
• No experience necessary as paid CDL training is provided
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
• Must be able to perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Must be able to maintain compliance with DOT regulations

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities
• Arrive at destinations on schedule
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Conduct child checks after each route
• Use navigation tools to plan efficient routes
• Maintain a clean, fueled, and well-maintained vehicle
• Keep accurate mileage and maintenance records
• Interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
