About The Position

Voyago and East Ferris Bus Lines are recruiting School Bus Drivers for the Student Transportation division in Simcoe, Hanover, Kingston, Ottawa, and North Bay. This is a split shift position, requiring drivers to be located close to the school coverage areas. The role involves safely transporting students, prioritizing their safety, conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining bus cleanliness, completing required documentation, reporting mechanical issues, addressing student behavior, and participating in ongoing training.

Requirements

Safety-focused
Valid minimum full Ontario G-class driver's license
21 years of age or over
Clean driving record
Criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
Sound driving knowledge of the locations in this posting
Ability to work independently
Available for the required split shifts of 4-5 hours total, that could run: Monday - Friday between 6:30am - 9:30am and 1:30pm - 5pm
Solid communication skills and must be fluent in English
Basic computer skills and can easily navigate Google Maps or a GPS unit

Responsibilities

Safely transport students within your community to and from school, ensuring a reliable and positive experience each day
Prioritize student safety at all times, including during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle
Conduct thorough pre and post trip inspections to ensure the bus remains in proper and safe operating condition
Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to present a well kept, professional vehicle
Accurately complete daily Hours of Service reports and maintain required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
Immediately report any mechanical issues or concerns affecting the safe operation of the vehicle
Address and report any student behaviour issues in a timely and professional manner, following company procedures
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with safety practices, policies, and regulations
Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers
