About The Position

This role involves providing direct clinical services within school-based settings, as well as clinic and community-based settings. The therapist will be responsible for diagnostic assessments, individual, family, and group therapies, and crisis intervention. A key aspect of the role is developing and updating treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and treatment teams, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and state/federal regulations. The position also requires active participation in team meetings, staff meetings, and trainings, as well as working with administrative staff to manage scheduling and authorizations. Accurate and timely documentation of all clinical and administrative processes is essential, adhering to standards set by Medicaid, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies. Effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, clients, families, schools, and other professionals is crucial. The therapist will also coordinate care with other professionals and agencies and assist in maintaining compliance with licensing and accreditation regulations. Maintaining professional licensure through continuing education is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • Licensed, in good standing, by Arkansas Professional Board as an LCSW, LMSW, PLMSW, LPC, LAC, LPE-I, LPE, PhD
  • Ability to document accurately and professionally
  • Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions
  • Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR & First Aid
  • Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of gender
  • Must have good auditory, visual, and olfactory ability
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.
  • Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart, or other treatment items
  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with hands and arms.
  • Flu vaccinations are mandatory and required for all positions (subject to qualified exemptions).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical services including diagnostic assessment, individual, family, and group therapies, and crisis intervention in clinic, school, and community settings.
  • Develop and update treatment plans in cooperation with clients, families, and treatment team members, adhering to organizational policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Participate in departmental and program treatment team meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.
  • Work with administrative support and utilization review staff to facilitate scheduling, prior and continuing authorizations for services, and transfers/discharges.
  • Complete all clinical and administrative processes, including documentation, in compliance with organization, department, and program policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Provide timely communication verbally and in writing with supervisor, colleagues, clients, families, schools, courts, and other professionals.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and programs within the MFH continuum of care and/or other outside organizations and agencies to ensure appropriate treatment for clients.
  • Assist in preparation for, and help to maintain compliance with state and federal licensing and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintain professional licensure by completing required continuing education.
  • Participate in school-based family service or referral meetings, IEP & 504 conferences, parent-teacher conferences, open houses, in-service trainings, and school/district committees.
  • Assist with evaluating students in the district who are in crisis and may need acute hospitalization.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and support to teachers, principals, and counselors.
