About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – School-Based 1:1 Student Care Interim HealthCare is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one nursing care and transportation support for an elementary-aged student in the Rochester, New Hampshire area. This is a rewarding opportunity for an RN who enjoys working with children and wants to make a meaningful difference in a student’s daily life. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, dependable, and comfortable providing hands-on nursing care while supporting the student’s safety, comfort, and participation in the school environment. Position Details Schedule: Monday–Friday Typical hours: Approximately 7:45 AM–3:00 PM , with some schedule variation based on the school calendar School Transportation: Nursing support required for two bus runs each day — morning pickup and afternoon drop-off Primary School: Specialized private school located in Rochester, NH Additional Assignment: During school hours, the RN will provide nursing support in a Rochester public school Friday Schedule: The student’s specialized school dismisses at approximately 11:45 AM on Fridays , with the RN's schedule and assignment adjusted accordingly The RN will accompany the student during the morning bus run, provide individualized nursing care during the school day, and accompany the student during the afternoon bus run.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Hampshire
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience within the last five years
  • Current CPR Certification required
  • Comfortable providing hands-on care and assisting with mobility, transfers, and positioning
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills
  • Patient, compassionate, dependable, and attentive approach to caring for children
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to maintain a consistent schedule and provide dependable support for school transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric, school nursing, G-tube, or complex-care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, individualized 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day
  • Accompany and provide nursing support during the assigned morning and afternoon school bus runs
  • Monitor the student’s health status and respond appropriately to medical needs
  • Provide G-tube care and administer feedings, medications, and treatments according to physician orders and the student’s care plan
  • Assist with positioning, mobility, transfers, and other physical care needs as appropriate
  • Monitor for changes in the student’s condition and communicate concerns promptly
  • Support the student’s communication, comfort, safety, and participation in classroom and school activities
  • Provide assistance with personal care and activities of daily living as needed
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
  • Follow all school, district, transportation, and nursing care policies and procedures
  • Provide a calm, supportive, and nurturing presence throughout the school day
  • Transition between the student’s specialized school assignment and the Rochester public school assignment as scheduled
