Requirements

  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.
  • Experience with child, adolescent, and/or adult clients (based on experience and credentialing).
  • Proficiency in EHR systems (Avon experience a plus).
  • Basic Office/Workspace tools (Docs/Sheets/Slides) proficiency.
  • Secure email/telehealth workflows proficiency.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey APN collaborative protocols and federal/state prescribing laws (CDS/DEA).
  • Understanding of HIPAA/FERPA in school settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a school-based setting.
  • Experience with Avon EHR system.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits (in-person and telehealth, as clinically appropriate).
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within scope; provide medication monitoring, psychoeducation, and safety planning.
  • Review external physicals, labs, and screenings obtained off-site to ensure medical needs are integrated into treatment planning.
  • Provide timely refills within policy; escalate high-acuity cases and coordinate higher levels of care when indicated.
  • Complete accurate, clinically appropriate documentation in the EHR within required timelines.
  • Maintain problem lists, med lists, allergies, CQM items, and measurement-based care instruments.
  • Follow New Jersey APN collaborative protocols and federal/state prescribing laws (CDS/DEA); comply with HIPAA/FERPA in school settings.
  • Participate in case consultation, multidisciplinary huddles, and care coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Support reasonable administrative responsibilities (e.g., forms, prior auth input, brief chart reviews).
  • Practice culturally responsive, trauma-informed care; incorporate clinical guidelines and decision support.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality metrics.
  • Abide by InSite Health code of ethics, policies & procedures, and all local/state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA (and FERPA where applicable in schools).
  • Participate in required trainings, supervision/consultation, and competency assessments.
