The Center for Youth, an organization started by youth for youth, partners with young people to help them reach their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice. The CD Prevention Counselor will provide school-based crisis intervention, prevention counseling (individual, family, and group), and case management services to youth. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments to identify issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling, and other risk factors that hinder healthy youth development. The Counselor will offer support for problem-solving and referral services, and develop Individual Service Plans with youth based on assessments. These plans will include services provided by the Counselor, school staff, and referrals to community agencies and school services. The Counselor will collaborate with faculty, staff, and partner agencies to ensure quality services, attend school and referral meetings, and participate in school events as appropriate. Additionally, the Counselor will coordinate and facilitate groups, workshops, and trainings as needed.
