About The Position

School-Based Prevention Clinicians partner with school staff, families, and students to provide clinical services to prevent the onset of mental illness or substance use disorders, reduce emotional/behavioral symptoms that affect school functioning, and build resiliency. Clinical services include: individual, group, and whole classroom prevention, early intervention, student/family/staff education, crisis intervention, referrals to community services, and collaboration to support student social/emotional/academic wellbeing. There are positions available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. There are several options for staff opportunities over the summer, including running prevention groups and providing short-term therapy.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Must hold an active Ohio Social Work, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist License (LISW, LPCC, IMFT preferred; LSW, LPC, or MFT with experience).
  • Clinical mental health experience working with school-aged children/teens.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to demonstrate flexibility, work independently as well as part of a team, have excellent time-management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in schools is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel, Google Workspace, and electronic medical records is preferred.
