Requirements

Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Valid New Jersey Physical Therapy license (or ability to obtain)
NJ School Certification
Experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred
Familiarity with IEP processes, special education law, and IDEA regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and school teams
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct physical therapy services to school-aged children in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify students' physical therapy needs
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to improve students' functional mobility and independence
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student goals
Document progress notes, evaluation reports, and IEP goals in a timely and accurate manner
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and parent conferences
Provide consultation and training to school staff on therapeutic strategies and adaptive equipment
