School Based Personal Care Aide PCA
About The Position
Interim HealthCare is seeking a School Based Personal Care Aide (PCA) to work with physically/intellectually disabled children in a 1:1 setting. This role involves assisting students with behavioral needs, toileting, and feeding within grades K through 12. The position is Monday through Friday, with hours varying per assignment between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm. This role offers opportunities to work with children aged 4 through 21 and provides compensation for transportation and mandatory in-services. The PCA will be a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing hands-on personal care, reporting changes in client condition, performing simple procedures, and assisting with daily living activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; REQUIRED
- CPR and First Aide Certificate; REQUIRED
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to undergo Pre-Employment Screenings
Nice To Haves
- 6 months of pediatric experience; preferred
Responsibilities
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Assist in keeping the client on task in a classroom setting
- Redirect when necessary in the case of disruption
- Assist with bathroom duties, if needed
- Ensure that the child is safe and not harming others
- Report observations or concerns to Interim supervisor
