School Based Mental Health Therapist
About The Position
Relate Counseling Center is expanding its team of clinicians and support staff and is seeking a School-Based Mental Health Therapist. This role provides a unique opportunity to deliver mental health services directly to students within their school buildings, thereby reducing barriers to access such as finances, transportation, and stigma. The therapist will manage a caseload of students, provide individual therapy, and collaborate with school systems to support student well-being. Responsibilities may also include training school staff, conducting classroom presentations, and offering other services to promote healthy school environments. The therapist will be assigned to one school district, working at either one or two schools within that district.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy required. The degree program needs to be from a program that is CACREP or CHEA accredited and meets their specifications.
- Current license to practice psychotherapy in the state of Minnesota or be actively working towards clinical licensure
- Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system
- Experience working with children
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the mental health services for clients
- Conduct Diagnostic Assessments and develop related treatment plans
- Provide ongoing, developmentally appropriate psychotherapy
- Provide relevant parent coaching to meet treatment plan goals
- Work with school staff through consultation and collaboration to best meet clients’ needs
- Maintain ongoing documentation of services
- Billable expectation of 960 hours/year (80/month)
- Provide staff training, consultation or other presentations as needed
