About The Position

Interim Healthcare of NEPA is seeking a School Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a student in the Hazelton, PA Area. This role involves providing direct medical care, developing health plans, monitoring student health, educating on health and hygiene, supporting special education teams, and promoting a safe and inclusive environment. The position follows the district schedule, with average 6.5 to 8 hour days, Monday through Friday. Transportation to and from school is provided.

Requirements

Current Nursing License in the State of Pa
Minimum One (1) Year Pediatric Experience
Minumum One (1) Year long term care or similar experience
CPR certification
Valid Driver's License
Willing to Undergo Pre-employment Screenings (which includes drug testing, various background checks, etc) and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
Create and Maintain Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPS) and Emergency Action Plans (IEPs) in Collaboration with Educators and Families.
Track and Assess Students' Physical and Emotional Health, Especially Those with Disabilities or Special Medical Conditions.
Teach Students Basic Hygiene, Self-care, and Life Skills Related to Health, Tailored to Developmental and Cognitive Levels.
Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) Meetings and Provide Health-related Input for Students' Educational Planning.
Ensure the Classroom Is Safe and Accessible, Train Staff on Health Protocols, and Advocate for Students’ Health-related Needs.
