About The Position

The Licensed Counselor assists patients in identifying and maximizing their strengths and connecting them with appropriate social, educational (academic and vocational), and occupational goals. The counselor helps patients prepare for and adjust to a drug-free existence and provides assistance with problematic issues, including emotional and physical support. The position is responsible to the Program Director for providing services to assigned patients, adhering to schedules and program policies and procedures, and complying with applicable federal, state, local, and accrediting-agency requirements. Duties must remain within the scope of the counselor’s license or certification. The position operates within the Fairland and Gallipolis school districts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or another social services field.
• Current licensure, such as LSW.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without an elevator or mechanical transportation.
• Ability to operate a computer and keyboard.

Responsibilities

• Conduct counseling sessions as required.
• Implement or revise patient treatment plans with patients as required by state regulation and document reviews of patient progress according to policy.
• Develop a formal treatment plan documenting patient goals within 10 days of entry, or within the timeframe required by state guidelines if more stringent, and update it according to the same guidelines.
• Maintain patient records that are complete, comprehensive, and well organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide services to assigned patients, adhere to schedules and established program policies and procedures, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
