About The Position

This position involves supporting children with Autism to reach their fullest potential. BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking dedicated employees who are either Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) certified or interested in pursuing their RBT credential. The RBT credential is a professional credential offered through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) and is required for individuals providing services on any Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or insurance-based contracts in Hawaii. This role requires working one-on-one with children and young adults diagnosed with Autism in Hawaii Island School Districts. BAYADA will provide training and extensive supervision.

Requirements

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT ) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (Training provided by BAYADA)
• Be at least 18 years of age
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families
• Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
• Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine
• Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
