The School Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL) is a Master's level mental health clinician who assists schools in implementing universal, trauma-informed practices to benefit students with Social Emotional Disturbance (SED) or at risk of developing mental health or substance use disorder. The SBBHL uses a framework with three Tiers to define practices, programs, and interventions that meet students’ needs, based on MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) best practices. The role involves supporting the behavioral health of students through Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III activities, including training school personnel, providing individual student interventions, facilitating psychoeducational groups, conducting student screenings, making referrals, and serving as a liaison between schools, families, and the community. The position requires a regular schedule of 40 hours weekly, primarily on-site at schools, and timely documentation of services and activities.
