About The Position

The School Assessment Coordinator works with the School District Assessment Coordinator, teachers, building level principals, and students to ensure that state mandated standardized tests are ordered, administered and returned in the approved manner. This is a full-year position, running from August to June. The coordinator is responsible for managing all standardized testing in the building as required by the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the area of state standardized tests and mandated graduation requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with district administrators and teachers.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • A commitment to making positive contributions to the South Fayette Township School District.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the school’s standardized testing procedures as regulated by the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment.
  • Working in conjunction with building level administration to determine standardized testing dates, times, and procedures.
  • Create rosters and assign students and test administrators to testing rooms.
  • Actively communicate with building staff and students regarding standardized testing regulations and requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with the Student Support Services (or designee) to coordinate testing services for home-bound students.
  • Communicate with the District Assessment Coordinator (or designee) to coordinate the ordering of all testing materials (regular and special) for students in the building.
  • Track attendance for all students during the testing window and coordinate all makeup examinations for students absent from regular testing sessions.
  • Coordinate support services for students in need of physical or educational testing accommodations.
  • Organize and conduct building level test training sessions for faculty and staff members responsible for administering standardized examinations.
  • Provide consultation to faculty and staff administering tests, update them on recent trends, and answer any questions they may have.
  • Accurately discuss testing results with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Correspond with the state Department of Education and identify building tests dates for each Pennsylvania state standardized exam.
  • Remain current on PSSA and Keystone testing issues by attending conferences and training as offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
