About The Position

Providing assistance to teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of daily activities within the school setting. The Aide will work under the direct supervision of the principal to provide support as needed on the campus. This position may be available at multiple Legacy Traditional Schools campuses. During the interview process, we'll discuss your preferred location(s) and current openings. Please note that not all locations may have active vacancies at the time you apply, and placement will be based on current hiring needs and availability.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to positively interact with all students.
Ability to positively and professionally interact with parents.
Create a safe learning environment that is conducive to learning.
Ability to identify individual student needs.
Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration and parents.
Ability to collaborate with school staff.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

Assists in duties such as making copies, delivering materials, and other projects, as needed.
Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods and field trips.
Assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather.
Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
May assist staff and students in use of educational computer programs.
Performs other related duties as required by the supervisor which do not require any professional skills.
May periodically work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
