About The Position

This position is 2 hours a day and is responsible for providing a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students. The aide will report the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office. The role involves monitoring campus activities to ensure student safety, identifying safety violations, diffusing situations among students, and reinforcing positive social behavior. Additionally, the aide will perform minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment. This is a Non-Exempt position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
• Knowledge of basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures; customer service principles.
• Skill in recognizing potential security risks.
• Skill in providing customer service.
• Skill in communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
• Reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Responsibilities

• Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.
• Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include: identifying safety violations; diffusing situations among students; reinforcing positive social behavior.
• Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
