About The Position

Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office. Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include: identifying safety violations; diffusing situations among students; reinforcing positive social behavior. Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
• Basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures; customer service principles.
• Recognizing potential security risks.
• Providing customer service.
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
• Reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
