About The Position

School Aged Educators at BACI work in a dynamic team environment to plan and organize activities for children of school age. School Aged Educators work directly with children to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth.

Requirements

• Practical experience working with children requiring additional support in inclusive settings.
• Practical experience working with children 5-12 years.
• Understanding and commitment to the principles of inclusion.
• Ability to develop rapport with families and children including respectful and non-judgmental interactions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with families, professionals, and staff.
• Ability to understand and follow procedure.
• Computer skills required.
• Completion of Grade 12 with post-secondary training in childcare, education, recreation, or a related field.
• First Aid, CPR, and TB test clearance required.
• Immunizations including COVID-19 vaccination required.
• Union Membership required.
• Criminal Record Search required.
• Driver’s License Search required.

Nice To Haves

• Early Childhood Education certification preferred.
• Special Needs certification preferred.
• School Age certification preferred.
