About The Position

The School Age Care and WrapAround Program Leads are responsible for all aspects of the JWP School Age Care and Wrap Around Programs (school year and summer care), including overseeing and leading the staff and students, planning programs and activities, creating a safe and welcoming site, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED
  • Ongoing District Training
  • CPR Certified
  • 3 years of experience working with children in a child-related field.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of coworkers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • General knowledge of standard office equipment and related software
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, students, parents
  • Must have patience and concern for the proper care of children
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with children, have good communication skills, show respect, consideration, warmth and affection with each child
  • Good human relation skills in dealing with a wide variety of people
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others, maintain confidentiality, and provide positive service

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates a safe, positive environment through the development and implementation of a curriculum which meets the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of students
  • Plans, implements, and carries out daily lesson plans in accordance with the SAC/WA standards
  • Supervises children's activities
  • Monitors student behaviors subject to guidelines and creates behavior management programs
  • Orders supplies and materials when needed
  • Communicates regularly with parents, staff, and students
  • Keeps the Activities & Community Education Director informed of any concerns, activities, accidents, or unusual situations
  • Schedules and provides direction of program staff
  • Helps manage overall program operations and policies and monitors goals
  • Assists with planning and facilitating staff meetings, in-services, and professional development for staff
  • Gather data for program financial management and budget expenditures
  • Oversees the registration process to ensure appropriate staff/child ratios, adequate enrollment, and staffing
  • Assists with preparing and presenting reports for school board presentations and advisory council meetings, as requested
  • Plans and oversees field trips and activities including venue documentation and arranging for transportation and necessary payments
  • Stays current with district and DHS policies and guidelines and current with child development research.
  • Assists with developing marketing materials
  • Promotes teamwork, customer service and a positive image of the program to peers, children, parents and the public at large
  • Maintains confidentiality of all children and parents/guardians involved in the SAC/WA Programs
  • Performs other duties, as assigned
