About The Position

The Before and After School Group Leader implements classroom curriculum, provides homework assistance, communicates information to families, and maintains a safe, healthy, engaging, and nurturing environment. This opening serves the Emilson Y branch, covering Norwell and Scituate program locations. Days are full of hands-on engagement, from morning activities to after-school homework help, gross motor play, and arts and crafts.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED
6+ months of experience working with school-age children
Reliable transportation required
Comfortable and able to work across more than one location as needed
Must pass background check: EEC background check including fingerprinting
Knowledge of EEC regulations
Strong relationship-building skills with staff, children, families, and volunteers; positive, professional approach to family needs
EEC Professional Development requirements
PQ Registry current
CPR/First Aid (provided)
Child Protection
Employee Safety training upon hire

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree a plus
3+ months of experience working with school-age children

Responsibilities

Plan and execute programs meeting EEC/HEPA standards and children's needs; accommodate children with disabilities per EEC and ADA.
Directly supervise program participants and volunteers; plan and direct staff work per EEC/QRIS standards.
Build family relationships, resolve inquiries, and help recruit new families.
Keep program facilities and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.
Engage volunteers.
Support YMCA fundraising activities and events.
