About The Position

The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is seeking passionate School Age Educators & Site Supervisors to join their team. This role is within a Licensed School Age Program in Chatham, ON. The YMCA is a large not-for-profit organization providing licensed child care, newcomer settlement services, employment supports, mental health services, youth programming, camps, and health & fitness facilities. Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Passionate about working in a social, child-focused environment
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification (or proof of scheduled training within 3 months of hire)
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
  • Up-to-date immunizations as required by Public Health, the Ministry of Education, and the YMCA
  • Ability to perform light to medium physical activity, including lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.)
  • Support up to six (6) Family of Schools
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children ages 4–12 in employment, volunteer, or placement settings
  • Current enrollment in, or completion of, Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • RECE candidates must be registered (or in the process of registering) with the College of Early Childhood Educators and be in good standing
  • Candidates from related disciplines must maintain membership with their professional associations where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, child-centered programs for children ages 4–12
  • Provide safe, quality care and support to children and families
  • Maintain supervision and ensure child safety at all times
  • Follow YMCA policies, municipal regulations, and CCEYA requirements
  • Foster inclusive, welcoming environments where every child feels they belong
  • Demonstrate YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusivity
