About The Position

School Age Educators & Site Supervisors are needed to join a passionate team of early childhood professionals dedicated to helping children and families thrive. The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care, with over 200 locations. In addition to child care programs, they offer newcomer settlement services, employment supports, mental health services, youth programming, camps, and health & fitness facilities. Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification (or proof of scheduled training within 3 months of hire)
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by Public Health, the Ministry of Education, and the YMCA
• Ability to perform light to medium physical activity, including lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.)
• Support up to six (6) Family of Schools
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

• Passionate about working in a social, child-focused environment
• Employees are required to submit availability four weeks in advance using an online scheduling system
• Support a family of schools within a reasonable geographic area

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children ages 4–12 in employment, volunteer, or placement settings
• Current enrollment in, or completion of, Early Childhood Education or a related field
• RECE candidates must be registered (or in the process of registering) with the College of Early Childhood Educators and be in good standing
• Candidates from related disciplines must maintain membership with their professional associations where applicable

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, child-centered programs for children ages 4–12
• Provide safe, quality care and support to children and families
• Maintain supervision and ensure child safety at all times
• Follow YMCA policies, municipal regulations, and CCEYA requirements
• Foster inclusive, welcoming environments where every child feels they belong
• Demonstrate YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusivity
