School-Age Childcare Staff – After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Program at Ekron Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves working with children aged 5-12, facilitating activities, and providing a safe and positive environment. The position is part-time, follows the school calendar, and is ideal for individuals who love working with children, parents seeking a compatible schedule, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor. Key success characteristics include a love for working with children, bringing energy, kindness, and patience, encouraging curiosity and creativity, working well with teammates, and effective communication with families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to exceptional care are also important.
Requirements
- 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
