School-Age Childcare Staff – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs within the Wappingers Central School District for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves working with children aged 5-12, facilitating hands-on activities, and providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment. The position requires adherence to state and program guidelines, and support of program operations such as attendance and registration. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, are energetic, kind, patient, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity and confidence. It is also well-suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to mentor children.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
