About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our After School Program at Ellis Public School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves working with school-age children (ages 5-12) and requires someone who loves working with children, brings energy and kindness, and enjoys encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The ideal candidate works well with teammates, communicates effectively with families, and is reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This position is part-time and follows the school calendar, with afternoon hours from 2:15 pm to 5:30 pm.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
