About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking dedicated After School Childcare Teachers to support and lead engaging programs for children aged 5-12. This part-time role involves ensuring program compliance with state regulations, planning and leading activities in fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support, managing daily operational tasks, communicating with parents via the Playground App, and collaborating with a direct report to ensure high-quality care and a positive team environment. The program operates at Los Ninos Elementary School and Sierra Vista Elementary School in Las Vegas, NM.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Hold a High School Diploma or GED
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB
• Warm, friendly, and upbeat demeanor
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff and program operations consistently meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
• Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
• Oversee daily operational tasks such as accurate attendance and registration tracking, scheduling, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.
• Communicate regularly with your direct report to share updates, address concerns, and support a positive team environment.
