About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our Before and After School Program at our Netherwood Elementary School location for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The ideal candidate works well with teammates, communicates effectively with families, and is reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This position is particularly well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy staying active and mentoring children. The role involves ensuring program quality with engaged and safe children, maintaining full staffing with prepared teachers, ensuring compliance with regulations and ratios, and managing site inventory and supplies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
  • Demonstrates a positive, friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and team members.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance.
  • Able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and meet the physical demands of working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure children are engaged, safe, and having fun every day.
  • Ensure the program reflects Healthy Kids Programs’ model and families consistently choose to re-enroll.
  • Ensure the site is fully staffed every day with prepared and supported teachers.
  • Ensure the site operates in ratio at all times.
  • Ensure records are accurate and current.
  • Ensure the program is ready for inspection on any given day.
  • Ensure the site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need.
  • Ensure restocking happens before it becomes a problem.
