About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Pittsburgh Manchester Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves shaping a safe and fun environment where children can grow and thrive, leading engaging activities, and being part of a positive, supportive team. The position is part-time, non-exempt, with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. The schedule is a split shift, with a morning program from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and an afternoon program from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM. This role is ideal for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors looking for hands-on experience, or retirees who enjoy mentoring children.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
  • Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience includes: planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.
  • 18 years of age
  • Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
  • Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
  • Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
