About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Bethel Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is part-time and follows the school calendar, with morning program hours from 7:00 AM to 8:35 AM and afternoon program hours from 3:20 PM to 6:30 PM. Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs. This role is ideal for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors looking for hands-on experience, or retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, supporting student growth, and being part of a mission-driven team.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess one of the following: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field; Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience; Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience; Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience; Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience includes: working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.
• 18 years of age
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
