About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Lopatcong Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and supporting program operations. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and kindness, encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence, works well with teammates, and communicates effectively with families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to exceptional care are essential. This position is part-time and follows the school calendar, with opportunities available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
