About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Pittsburgh Minadeo Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both programs. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, observing guidelines, and supporting program operations. This position is ideal for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children. Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
