About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Roaring Brook Elementary School, Grafflin Elementary School, and Westorchard Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both programs. The role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Successful candidates will work well with teammates, communicate effectively with families, and be reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This position is particularly well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. Requirements

  • 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
  • Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
