About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time School-Age Childcare Assistant for its before- and after-school programs for the 2026–2027 school year. Program locations include East Coldenham Elementary School and Little Britian Elementary School in Newburgh, NY, and 565 Union Avenue in New Windsor, NY. The position follows the school calendar and may be scheduled for the morning program (7:00–9:00 a.m.), the afternoon program (2:15–6:00 p.m.), or both. Pay is $16.00 per hour. The role supports school-age children through engaging activities, homework help, and a safe, positive program environment. Healthy Kids Programs operates Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp programs at more than 150 locations and describes itself as a certified Benefit Corporation focused on accessible, affordable childcare and meaningful opportunities for children, families, and team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of experience working with children under age 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Follow state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
