School-Age Childcare Assistant – After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our After School Program at Union School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children and are seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day. The program operates from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, following the school calendar. The ideal candidate brings energy, kindness, and patience, enjoys encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and works well with teammates and communicates effectively with families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to providing exceptional care are key characteristics for success in this part-time position.
Requirements
- 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
