About The Position

Supports the daily operation of the School Age Child Care program under the direct supervision of the SACC Director, Team Leader, or other designated staff member. The student employee assists with age-appropriate activities, student engagement, program routines, facility organization, and general program support while maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for children.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Marysville Schools.
  • Minimum age of 14 at the time of employment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with children and adults.
  • Dependable, responsible, patient, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and seek assistance when needed.
  • Ability to complete required training and comply with applicable student-employment requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and appropriately with children and adults.
  • Ability to follow directions, schedules, routines, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with the SACC Team Leader, SACC staff, school personnel, and other student employees.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, dependability, honesty, responsibility, and good judgment.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect confidential information.
  • Ability to assist with age-appropriate activities and interact positively with school-aged children.
  • Ability to recognize and promptly report safety concerns, injuries, illness, behavioral incidents, or other problems to the assigned supervisor.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing activities, schedules, student needs, and program assignments.
  • Ability to use basic technology and district-approved communication or attendance systems, as assigned.
  • Must complete the required background screening, obtain and maintain required certifications and training, and meet all applicable state, district, and program employment requirements.
  • This position is limited to students who are currently enrolled in high school and meet the applicable student-worker requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with age-appropriate recreational, educational, social, creative, and physical activities planned by the SACC Team Leader.
  • Engage positively with students and help create a safe, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming program environment.
  • Assist with active supervision of students during activities, transitions, indoor and outdoor play, snack periods, and other assigned routines.
  • Follow established SACC procedures for student supervision, attendance, transitions, behavior support, emergency response, and student safety.
  • Use positive guidance, redirection, and respectful communication when supporting student behavior; immediately report safety concerns, injuries, behavioral incidents, or other concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Assist with preparing, organizing, distributing, and storing activity materials, games, equipment, and supplies.
  • Help maintain clean, orderly, and safe program spaces, tables, storage areas, and activity areas.
  • Assist with snack preparation and cleanup in accordance with SACC procedures and directions from assigned staff.
  • Assist the Team Leader with routine administrative tasks, attendance records, sign-in or sign-out procedures, supply organization, and other assigned documentation.
  • Communicate respectfully and appropriately with students, families, school staff, and SACC personnel, referring questions or concerns to the Team Leader or SACC Director.
  • Protect the confidentiality of student, family, staff, and program information.
  • Follow all district and SACC safety, health, emergency, security, supervision, and confidentiality procedures.
  • Complete assigned training and participate in required orientation activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the SACC Director or designated SACC supervisor.
